About Alan

I was born in Falmouth, Cornwall, back when you could go to the cinema, buy fish & chips on the way home and still have change from a shilling !.

Having progressed through my education, at 17 years of age I attended an extensive Technical Graphics course at Cornwall Technical College.

On my departure as a fully qualified Technical Illustrator I gained a position in a busy Graphics agency in Hampshire, but missing the glorious summers (and extremely wet winters) of Cornwall I returned 2 years later.

Holman (now CompAir UK Ltd.) would be my employer for the next 12 years, then, for 2 years I jointly taught my skills to students back at Cornwall Technical College whilst undertaking projects for various organisations on a freelance basis.

Returning to CompAir, it was not long before major changes were starting to take place in the Technical Graphics workplace. No longer did you need to sharpen pencils and clean ink pens (okay you might need to 'defluff' your mouse!) the computer had replaced the drawing board.

At first reluctant to let go of the 'old ways' I quickly realised the major advantages of the new way of working. Those changes greatly benifitted CompAir and can now do the same for customers of 3dtp.
